NEIGHBOURHOOD NOMS

"We aim to improve livelihoods of women from low-income families and help them build their self confidence so that they can lead more meaningful lives"
Neighbourhood Noms was started as a social entrepreneurial project under Enactus Singapore, a global non-profit organisation that believes in the power of entrepreneurial action to create positive social change.

We aim to provide women from low-income families flexible employment opportunities by leveraging their unique skillsets. We noticed that many of them have a keen interest in cooking and hosting people, and we saw an opportunity for them to conduct cooking classes and host dining experiences for the public!

"Our hosts are engaging, inspiring and fully dedicated to delivering a cooking class unlike any other"
We are currently working with Sufiyyah, Noridah and Zirah from YWCA. They have a wealth of experience in cooking for their families and have brought their own recipes from their homes to Neighbourhood Noms. These recipes have been  passed down over generations. Every dish that they teach comes with a story. At Neighbourhood Noms, our hosts will bring you a homely and warm cooking experience  like no other!

Join us today and uncover the secrets of making delicious home-cooked food and discover the stories behind the dishes such as Ondeh-Ondeh and Popiah!

a unique experience

"We offer an immersive and fully hands-on culinary experience that is suitable for all ages"
During our cooking class, you will get to learn to cook local dishes such as Popiah, Ondeh-Ondeh, and Roti Jala with Curry Chicken!

Not only do you learn to cook, you will have the opportunity to dine with our hosts and learn more about their lives and culture. There is no better way to immerse yourself in Singapore's multi-culturalism than to experience its food and engage in meaningful conversations with locals.
